Congratulations to Mr. Gabriel Ungureanu of Pelham, NH.  Mr. Ungureanu is the winner of Laconia Rotary Club's 25th Annual Charity Raffle and is the proud new owner of a 2017 Harley-Davidson FLHXS Street Glide.  The winning ticket number 2215 was drawn on Sunday, June 18, 2017 by Chief Matthew Canfield, chief of the Laconia Police Department from the 2,587 tickets that had been sold.

The motorcycle was presented to Ungureanu by Craig Sikoski, motorcycle chairperson for Laconia Rotary, at Heritage Harley Davidson, in Concord, NH.  Sikoski said, “I was glad to present the motorcycle to someone who appreciates it.  The motorcycle raffle this year was very successful.  Laconia Rotary thanks all of the individuals who purchased tickets, for their support of the charitable work that Rotary does.”

Sikoski continued “Ungureanu was very excited to learn that he had won the motorcycle.    He is a motorcycle rider, but this is his first Harley.  His first purchase for the motorcycle will be a second seat for his wife.  His winning ticket was purchased at the Weirs on the first Saturday, June 10.”

Joanne Piper Lang, president of Laconia Rotary Club said, “Craig Sikoski did an outstanding job as chairperson of the raffle this year.  I want to give special thanks to Craig and all of the dedicated members of the Laconia Rotary club who put countless hours into traveling all over the northeast to not only sell tickets but tow the motorcycle to all of the various events.  This in most cases was time away from their families and business obligations and I am extremely humbled by the enormity of everyone pulling together as a team to have a successful motorcycle raffle.”

Lang continued, “Thank you to all of our supporters who buy tickets from us every year, we couldn't do what we do without your support.  Your support allows Rotary to make substantial charitable contributions to the youth and elderly in our communities as well as in international communities, and to assist with the restoration of the Colonial Theater.  The club disbursed over $37,000 for the year 2016-17, and we are looking forward to continuing this in the coming years.”
