Wetlands Walk at Gunstock

Rotary Clubs of Belknap County and Interact Clubs of Belknap County, their friends & family, and the general public are invited to join Laconia Rotary and Belknap County Conservation District in the great outdoors for a morning of service to our community.
 
The wheelchair-accessible Wetlands Walk boardwalk at Belknap County’s public recreation area, Gunstock, is an informational boardwalk through the beautiful wetlands at Gunstock, enjoyed by thousands each year. The winter takes its toll on this valuable local resource, and we will be making it ready to be enjoyed by the public for another season. 

Project Tasks Include:
 
  • Spring clean-up (raking, name plaque cleaning, etc.)
  • Tree branch trimming
  • Post installation
  • Kiosk painting
  • Trail blaze painting 
  • Install signage
  • Install bicycle racks
  • Build & install birdhouses
  • Create a map of birdhouse locations
  • Build and install duck box
  • Planting pollinator gardens 
  • Create rabbit habitat
  • Remove invasive plants
  • Boardwalk repair, boards & posts 
Bring:   • Work Gloves • Sunblock • Bug Spray • Tools, as needed
